The Uses Of Sewing Machine
Sewing machines were invented long back during the first industrial revolution. The intention behind the invention of such machines was the time required to go back into sewing, that were done manually before all this sewing. The cloth companies needed to optimize their work and sewing machines, was the answer.
Once the first sewing machine was invented, the productivity and efficiency of the clothing and fabric industriessignificantly increased. Also, the sewing machines greatly increase their speeds manifolds improved varieties available in stitching styles. The modern sewing machines look and work in a much more mechanical way that the sewing machines, which compares to our great grandmothers. Instead of simple stitching, they embroider, sew, do fasten buttons, Pekoe, and many other activities.
The older machines a single thread chain stitch mechanism. Themodern sewing machine uses two threads instead of one and uses the so-called lock stitching mechanism. The specialized industrial sewing machines are usually kind of seams, as they must be optimized. They are designed so that the tissue is able to slide easily in and out without any hassle of thimbles and needles. The ease reduces the effort and saves a lot of time.
The problem with the chain stitch was - it was extremely weakand it was possible to pull them apart very easily. With the introduction of machinery in the area, people began to think that a better and stronger type of stitching could now developed, which would only be possible through the machine. Lockstitch seams was the answer to their questions. In the case of lock-stitch seams, two different threads are interlocked from both sides of the fabric. It results in a mesh, which can be read as if the tissue from both ends so that it is much sewnstronger and more durable than the conventional chain stitch.
Saint Thomas was the first person to patent a design for sewing machine. His machine was designed to work on canvas and leather. A working model of the same was never built. Other designs and patents came into the future. Walter Hunt was the developer of lockstitch stitching technique.
Other than the basic requirements in the movement of the grippers, needles and coils, the most important movement isthat the substance. It is necessary that the fabric moves the required time (generally continuously) so that the seams are made in the right place. The movement is also referred to as "fodder". Typical feed are: needle, drop feed, puller, walking foot, and manual. In general, more than one type of feed in a single machine is used to optimize the work.
A household machine will generally only the lock stitch seams mechanism. But the machine canUsed in a slightly different way (usually by pressing the needle in different way, a feature included in the machine); fancy stitches can be made possible. The simplest form of a zig-zag stitch is fantasy, where the needle needs to perform only an oscillatory motion continuously as the stitching is done normally.
Mechanical configuration can differ significantly in sewing machines. Some of the typical configurations are - cylinder bed, flat-bed, from the arm and towards the bed.All the basic feed mechanism and stitch types in all these configurations. Used for industrial purposes the best possible configuration for a type of stitch. How Blind is always cylinder bed configuration.
The invention of the sewing machine was a necessity. And its introduction significantly increases the production and quality of the cloth industry.

| Review by Barbara Boutsikaris (USA) 2010-06-02 I was given this sewing machine for Mother's Day and I haven't stopped sewing/quilting since. It's simple to thread and it sews smoothly and quietly -- like a dream. There are SO many stitch choices -- vines, flowers, double lines, squares and more -- and all you need to do is press a button and they just happen! I feel like I've been sewing in... | Review by CL (Ohio) 2010-05-27 I chose this machine specifically because it offers a serger-like, stretchable stitch that I wanted for altering jersey-knit t-shirts. And it has a ton of other stitches--more than I will probably ever need. I use the machine almost daily and it seems very durable and good quality for its reasonable price. I'm glad I went with this machine.... Read more Brother XL2600I 25-Stitch reviews | ||

| Review by C Burgess (USA) 2010-07-03 Works great with my Babylock DenimPro (circa 1994?), on several fabrics (even flannel) and using zig-zag. Didn't work on straight stitch since I can't position the needle on my machine to far left or far right, center only, which causes the stitch to miss the roll entirely -- but that's a problem with my machine, not the foot.
